Happy Friday! Time for The Friday Five! Today, I’ve asked five home bloggers, who are five of my blogging BFFs, to tell me what “Home” means to them.
Here are their answers.
What Home Means:
Debbie of Refresh Restyle: “Home is where the coffee is strong and the bed is soft. Where there’s love, laughter and sometimes dancing. A place of refuge, a place to do as we please.”
Vivienne of The V Spot: “No matter what my house looks like, or where I am, Home is where my family is. That said, it’s the little things that make up Home for me – From furniture to knick-knacks, it’s a well loved mix of things, all of which tell a story and have some meaning for me.”
Kim of The Kim Six Fix: “Home is the place where I am most comfortable and surrounded by people and things I love. A home doesn’t have to be large or fancy or filled with expensive things. It certainly doesn’t need to be perfect or even beautiful. Often the things that make a space feel the most like home are its imperfections…the scars left behind after being lived-in and well loved. Children’s artwork on the fridge, a pile of laundry in the hall and a pair of muddy shoes by the back door: That is what home means to me.”
Laura of Duke Manor Farm: “Home to me means creating a comfortable and inviting spot for everyone in the family, including my husband, kids and the dogs. I want the spaces in my home to not only look good but also serve a function and the occasional mess.”
Amy of Atta Girl Says: “When you’re addicted to shelter magazines, design shows and Pinterest, like I am, it’s easy to chase the trends and to construct a picture-perfect dream home in your mind. Somewhere along the way, I realized hardwood floors and granite countertops and cool playrooms and huge walk-in closets don’t make a dream home. Our home is our haven. It’s more than just four walls. It’s the people we share it with that make a house a dream home. It’s the memories we make here, and those will last far longer than any trend or decorating decision.”
